We use Triple evacuation therefore you can have flawless and clean system operation. Triple evacuation is A method of evacuation that initially pulls the vacuum below 1,000 and 2,000 microns. Next, a small amount of refrigerant or an inert gas such as nitrogen is allowed into the refrigeration cycle. The purpose is for the gas to absorb moisture from the refrigeration system. Our certified technicians undergo yearly training in order make sure your AC Installation will be done right. With over 60 plus hours of paid training so that we can do the job right, the first time!
Vacuum Test
First achieve a below 500 micron level. Then isolate the system from the service hoses, manifold and vacuum pump at the evacuation tool valves or hose ball valves. Vacuum should stabilize and hold below 500 microns. Once the vacuum rises slowly and stops, there is moisture in the system, and evacuation should be continued. If the vacuum rises to atmospheric pressure, you have a leak that needs to be repaired. If you can hold a 500 micron or lower vacuum, then you know you have a cleandry and leak-free air conditioning or refrigeration system.
Terminology Definitions:
Micron— One thousandth (1/1,000) of a millimeter or 0.00004 of an inch. A micron is a unit of measurement that is widely in practice to measure a vacuum.
Vacuum — The absence of matter in a space. In HVACR terminology, it is the absence of air and water vapor within the refrigerant system.
Non-Condensable — This is a Gas that will not condense in the condenser.
Dehydrate — A common process in check. We use this to remove water and water vapor from the system in order to obtain a clean refrigeration cycle.
Evacuation — Is accomplished by removing water vapor and air from the system. (AC Installation) We practice this, which Results in prolonged life of your unit.
Electronic vacuum gauge — A common field term is a micron gauge, the electronic vacuum gauge measures in units of microns, and it is the most accurate method of measuring a vacuum. Nowadays, service technicians suppose that they know what is sufficient run time for a vacuum pump without measuring with a micron gauge. This is a step to a failing unit. The certified technician always verifies and measures his or her work with an electronic vacuum gauge. If you do not test, you are only going by feeling.
The Vacuum pump function — This tool is at the heart of the evacuation process, the vacuum pump lowers the pressure inside of the system to below atmospheric pressure, which causes water vapor to boil off and vent to the atmosphere. With this process, contaminants such as moisture, and particles from the system evacuate and end up in the vacuum pump’s oil. It is necessary to periodically change this oil. Using the same oil over and over again will damage the pump and slow down the cleaning process, wasting time and money.
The most common vacuum pumps that are in circulation are single and two stage, such as the JV 8CFM Vacuum Pump. The two-stage model pulls a deeper vacuum because the first stage exhaust vents into the second stage intake. This procedure allows second stage to pull at a lower pressure, increasing efficiency and reducing the vacuum time.
